Maybe DeWalt could possibly come up with another way to keep the release out of the way when you're using the tool. I realized what I was doing and put my hand beneath the lever after that. This might cause problems (broken blade maybe?) if you accidentally squeeze it too hard while you're cutting. The only neg I had was that the handle that you squeeze to change the blade is right where you want to hold onto the tool to make your cut. It has a lot of power if you really squeeze the trigger! It was easy to control, too, and I got a nice clean even cut along my pencil line. It cut right thru and it was nice to be able to control the speed with the trigger. So I cut out the bottom 10" with this oscillating tool without removing the trim on each side of the door (see photo). I wanted to repair the brick moulding trim on my garage door by cutting out the rotten area and cutting a new piece to fit instead of replacing the whole piece. It came with 2 blades, a bi-metal blade and an HSC blade (?) apparently good for wood. I already had 2 batteries for my DeWalt cordless drill, so I saved some money buying the tool only. I liked that it was brushless, which should save on battery life and that you don't need a special tool to change blades. I decided to spend them on this DeWalt oscillating tool as I will be helping my son renovate a 1930s house this fall/winter and I know sometimes there are oddball times when we'll need something like this. I held off using them until I figured out what I really wanted. It is gentle enough to put together furniture and strong enough to drill decently sized holes in lumber. The torque adjustment has plenty of degrees of adjustment that you can find the right torque for the right job. The brushless motor is fantastically efficient and provides enough power to drill holes through any wood that I use.Īttaching some anchors to my aluminum screen, the drill didn't let up once and totally ripped through it like butter. I found that with my 2mah batteries that I can complete any decently sized job. NOTE: I am not a professional but I am a DIY person who uses there tools an above-average amount of time. Yet, it keeps on going strong so I've been quite impressed with it. The drill has definitely seen its fair share of falls and bumps. From hanging the television on the wall to drilling my attic decking, this drill can handle just about any task that I can throw at it. This is the go-to drill that I use for everything.
